Below is the will of Henry Stanyforth, son of Henry Staniforth and wife of Sarah Finch


THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ME HENRY STANIFORTH of Ormskirk in the County of Lancaster, Bricksetter. I give devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Executors hereafter named upon trust to permit my wife Sarah to have such portion of my household furniture as may be necessary to furnish a house with during her life or widowhood. AND to call collect get in and convert into money all the residue of my personal estate. And in the first place pay thereout all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the charges of the probate of this my will. AND in case the same shall be insufficient for that purpose then the same to be paid out of the proceeds of the sale of my real estate as hereinafter mentioned.

I direct my Executors to set and let my real estate and invest the residue of my personal estate(if any) and after paying the necessary expenses of keeping my property in repair pay such rents and interest to my said wife during her life or widowhood. And from and after the death or marriage again of my said wife my said Executors shall apply such rents and interest in for and towards the maintenance education and bringing up of all and every my children during their respective minorities and from and after the death or marriage again of my said wife and the attainment to the age of my children then In trust for all and every my said children share and share alike their respective heirs executors administrators and assigns as tenants in common. Provided always and I do hereby declare that if my said executors shall deem it advisable or necessary for the payment of my debts or for the benefit of my estate to see the whole or any part of my real estate either during the widowhood of my said wife or after her death or marriage it shall be lawful for them so to do and the money to arise therefrom shall be held and applied in the same manner and for the same purposes as my said real and personal estate or the rents and proceeds thereof are therein before directed to be held paid and applied. And I declare that all purchasers and other persons paying any money under this my will shall not be answerable or accountable for any loss misapplication or non application thereof and that the receipts of my said Executors or the survivor of them or the executors or administrators of such survivor shall be good discharges to all persons paying money under this my will and that they may retain and reimburse themselves and each other all costs and expenses and a reasonable recompense for trouble and loss of time attending the execution of this my will. AND I appoint my said Wife Sarah during her widowhood and Luke Brighouse of Ormskirk Law Clerk and Herbert Finch of Southwell, Nottinghamshire, Executors of this my will. SIGNED AND DECLARED by the said Henry Staniforth as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. Leonard Kennedy, Peter Hale.
