The Following is a Conveyance of Freehold Cottages at Hackenthorpe dated April 17th, 1877

Conveyance of Freehold Cottages at Hackenthorpe in the County of Derby

Between MR WILLIAM LIDDELOW and SARAH ANN his wife to MR CHARLES H STANIFORTH

This indenture made the SEVENTEENTH DAY OF APRIL ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SEVENTY SEVEN

BETWEEN WILLIAM LIDDELOW of Sheffield in the County of York, Plate Layer, and SARAH ANN his wife of one part and the within named CHARLES HEATON STANIFORTH of Hackenthorpe in the County of Derby, Miner, of the other part whereas the within named ANN STANIFORTH died on the FIFTH day of JANUARY ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDED AND SEVENTY FIVE and was buried in the burial ground belonging to Beighton Church in the county of Derby on the TENTH day of JANUARY following AND WHEREAS the within named SAMUEL HEATON intermarried with MARY HALLATT at Saint Georges Church in the parish of Sheffield aforesaid on the ELEVENTH day of JUNE ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND FIFTY FOUR and died intestate on the THIRTEENTH day of DECEMBER ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTY and was buried at the cemetery of ATTERCLIFFE in the parish of Sheffield aforesaid on the SIXTEENTH day of DECEMBER following (in the lifetime of his wife) and leaving the said SARAH ANN now the wife of the said WILLIAM LIDDELOW his only child and heiress at law who was born on the TWENTY NINTH day of JANUARY ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND FIFTY SIX and baptised at the parish church of Sheffield aforesaid on the TWENTY FOURTH day of MARCH following AND WHEREAS the said MARY HEATON (then MARY JOHNSON) died on the TWELTH day of SEPTEMBER ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FOUR and was buried at the cemetery at ACCRINGTON in the parish of WHALLEY in the County of LANCASTER on the FIFTEENTH day of SEPTEMBER following AND whereas the said WILLIAM LIDDELOW and SARAH ANN his wife (then SARAH ANN HEATON) were married at the Parish Church of Sheffield on the SECOND day of FEBRUARY ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SEVENTY SIX and whereas the said CHARLES HEATON STANIFORTH hath contracted with the said WILLIAM LIDDELOW and SARAH ANN his wife for the purchase at the price of THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY POUNDS the hereditaments hereinafter described and intended to be hereby granted and the inheritance thereof in fee simple in possession free from incumbances NOW THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that in pursuance of the said agreement and in consideration of the sum of THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY POUNDS upon the execution of these presents paid by the said CHARLES HEATON STANIFORTH to the said WILLIAM LIDDELOW and SARAH ANN his wife ( the receipt of which said sum of three hundred and fifty pounds the said WILLIAM LIDDELOW and SARAH ANN LIDDELOW do hereby acknowledge) She the said SARAH ANN LIDDELOW with the concurrence of the said WILLIAM LIDDELOW doth hereby grant and dispose of and he the said WILLIAM LIDDELOW doth hereby grant and confirm unto the said CHARLES HEATON STANIFORTH his heirs and assigns ALL and singular the cottages or tenements Land and hereditaments in the within written deed expressed to be granted and assured with the ultimate remainder to the use of the said SAMUEL HEATON his heirs and assigns with their Rights Easements and Appurtenances and which said hereditaments for the purpose of facilitating the identification thereof are now particularly deliverated and described with the abuttals thereof in the plan drawn in the margin of these presents and therein coloured pink and all the estate right side interest claim and demand of the said WILLIAM LIDELOW and SARAH ANN his wife into and upon the same premises TO HOLD the said premises unto and TO THE USE of the said CHARLES HEATON STANIFORTH his heirs and assigns AND the said WILLIAM LIDDELOW doth hereby for himself his heirs executors and administrators covenant with the said CHARLES HEATON STANIFORTH his heirs and assigns that notwithstanding anything by the said SARAH ANN LIDDELOW or any of her ancestors or by the said WILLIAM LIDDELOW dower or knowingly suffered they the said WILLIAM LIDDELOW and SARAH ANN his wife now have power to grant and dispose of the said premises to the use of the said CHARLES HEATON STANIFORTH his heirs and assigns free from encumbrances and that all the said premises may be quietly entered Into held and enjoyed by the said CHARLES HEATON STANIFORTH his heirs or assigns without any interruption by the said WILLIAM LIDELOW and SARAH ANN his wife or either of share or any person claiming through or in trust for the SARAH ANN LIDDELOW or any of her ancestors and that she the said SARAH ANN LIDDELOW and her heirs and the said WILLIAM LIDDELOW and every person claiming through or in trust for the said SARAH ANN LIDDELOW or any of her Ancestors or the said WILLIAM LIDDELOW will at all times at the cost of the said CHARLES HEATON STANIFORTH his heirs and assigns execute and do all such assurances and things for further or better assuring all or any of the said premises to the use of the said CHARLES HEATON STANIFORTH his heirs and assigns as by him or them shall be reasonable required IN WITNESS whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written

This Deed marked “A” produced before us and acknowledged by SARAH ANN LIDDELOW therein named to be her Act and Deed previous to which acknowledgement the said SARAH ANN LIDDELOW was examined by us separately and apart from WILLIAM LIDDELOW her husband touching her knowledge of the contents of the said Deed and her consent there do and declare the same to be freely and voluntarily executed by her.
