Herbert's Walking Stick

This walking stick was owned by Herbert Heaton Staniforth, and it is presumed he used it for walking. There are reports in the newspaper that state that he had a dog in his early life, so it seems likely he walked using this stick. It is currently in the possession of Herbert's grandson, David Lyne, son of Hilda Heaton Staniforth, Herbert's daughter.

It is unclear when exactly the stick was bought, Herbert lived at Brook Lane, Hackenthorpe before moving down to Beighton Road, he passed away in 1970 at Mosborough, so it seems likely that if the stick was a new purchase by Herbert, it is from the mid-20th Century.
